#8: Ride on the Subway

Since I haven't done any thing for this month yet (I know! I only have a little more than a week left!), I'm going to start off by reliving the things I have accomplished already up until I complete one for the month of January.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK!! Spring Break 2009. My best friend Holland and I took a trip to New York for I think, about 5 days total. It was my first time there (2nd I believe for her) and I cannot tell you how excited I was to be there. We stayed at a hotel in White Plains and the days that we wanted to go into the city we took the train.

It must have been the second day into the trip and we wanted to visit Ground Zero. We were at Grand Central Station and obviously, Ground Zero is not very close to that. So, we needed to take the subway. When we finally got the right trains, we made our way to the subway station.

It was my first time on it and it was basically what I imagined it to be. People were standing, holding onto the poles, or quietly sitting on the hard, plastic bench chairs. However, I didn't expect it to be as fast as it was. At first we had to stand and when the train took off, I had to hold on tightly or else I would have definitely fallen over.

I especially liked one of the subway stations that we went into because there was a band putting on a little show. The short video I took is below!

It was a fun experience! I would definitely visit NY again and ride the subway trains!
